Becoming a doctor is a dream for most Indian students and National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) is a national-level medical entrance exam that fulfils such dreams. Conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA), students must clear the NEET exam to secure a medical seat. Every year, over 15 lakh candidates appear for this exam to compete for nearly one lakh available seats, which includes seats for dental colleges. The number of students appearing for the NEET exam increases every year as it also includes candidates who repeat the exam. With the competition so high, NEET is easily considered one of the highly competitive medical exams in India.
As per NTA guidelines, there are no restrictions on the number of attempts for candidates to appear for the NEET exam. When students fail to secure their desired marks, they are encouraged to take the NEET exam again the following year. With proper guidance and support, students can clear the NEET exam in their first attempt. Parishrama NEET Academy in Bangalore helps students achieve their goals with proper guidance and support. - In section B, candidates are expected to answer any 10 questions out of the 15 questions.
- For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded (+4) and for every incorrect answer, there is a penalty of 1 mark (-1). If unanswered, then no marks are deducted.
Several weeks later, the answer keys will be published on the official NTA website and candidates can verify their answers. In case of any discrepancies, the candidates can challenge the examination authority in case they are unsatisfied with the answers. In the end, the examination authority considers all the challenges received and publishes the final key answers a few days before releasing the NEET exam results. The candidates can then verify their answers with the carbon copy of their Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet using the following equation:
NEET score = (Number of correct answers X 4) – (Number of incorrect answers X 1)
