The University College of Engineering is the biggest and oldest engineering college in the state of Telangana. It was founded in 1929, located in Hyderabad, Telangana state.  The college has celebrated Platinum, Golden, and Diamond. It became autonomous in 1994.  Its alumni and faculty members include distinguished individuals including Prime Minister of India P.V Narasimha Rao, Jaipal Reddy a cabinet minister, Ex-Chief Minister of United AP Kiran Kumar Reddy.  

It has departments of Genetics, Biochemistry, Engineering, Management, and Law. It is a state-owned university and funded by the State Government. Admission into Bachelor of Engineering is done based on merit, through entrance exams like EAMCET, GATE.  It offers a four-year engineering degree course in Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
